18 In patients with NSCLC excluding predominant squamous histology, all grade reactions were seen with a frequency of up to 9.3% when treated with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy compared with up to 5% in the patients treated with chemotherapy alone. Grade 3-5 reactions have been observed in up to 2.3% of patients treated with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy as compared with < 1% with chemotherapy alone (NCI-CTCAE v.3). Major or massive pulmonary haemorrhage/haemoptysis can occur suddenly and up to two thirds of the serious pulmonary haemorrhages resulted in a fatal outcome.
